Built in 1906, Shenyang Glacier Zoological Paradise is the earliest zoo in Shenyang. Formerly known as the Shenyang City Zoo and located at the Mt. Qipanshan Forest Wild Animal Zoo, it is a 4A grade scenic spot now. Shenyang Glacier Zoological Paradise covers an area of 240 hectares that includes the pavement, the car-riding area and an amusement park. It is a brand-new theme park where visitors and animals join in the fun.
There are more than 120 kinds of animals live in the park. The 45 hectares pavement offers visitors a close-up observation of many rare animals, such as pandas, Asian elephants, leopards, lesser pandas, polar bears and sharks. There are performances like the tigers and lions jumping through a ring of fire, sheep standing on flower vase, and bears playing on the swing, amongst others.
The carriding area is made up of the bear hill, tiger mountain, wolf valley, African grasslands, Asian grasslands and waterfowl lake. By hiring a bus or driving one’s own car, visitors are able to enjoy an adventurous journey.
